Reimers Ranch
🚐 Join the caravan
Central Texas's premier limestone sport crag — 300+ bolted routes (5.4–5.14) strung along the Pedernales River canyon, shaded by the wall. The Austin proving ground, ~45 min from town: a perfect WFH-day shakedown.
🚗 Getting there & comms
Trailhead: Reimers climbing lot — trail off the NE corner
~45 min SW of Austin: Hwy 71 W → FM 3238 / Hamilton Pool Rd, ~12 mi to the gate
⛽ Last services: Dripping Springs (gas, H-E-B, food) ~20 min back toward town.
📶 Cell signal: Spotty down in the canyon (AT&T/Verizon weak at the wall); fine in the lot or up top for a WFH check-in.
🥾 Approach · descent · season
Approach: From the northeast corner of the climbing parking lot, a trail drops into the Pedernales River canyon; the walls line the rim and riverside — 5–15 min to most sectors.
🗓️ Season: Year-round; spring & fall are prime. In summer climb early or late — the canyon shades the afternoon. Gate locks at dusk.
🎒 Gear & food
Rack: All sport: 12–16 quickdraws + a 60m or 70m rope. Helmet for the canyon.
